ChildLine Rocks is a voluntary committee established in 2008 to raise money through live music and other shenanigans for ChildLine.
The first ChildLine Rocks was held at London's indigO2 on 13th March 2008. The full line-up for the inaugural event was: Roger Daltrey, Lulu, Marillion, Thunder, Fish, Ian Paice (Deep Purple), Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple), The Zombies, and Russ Ballard.
The event, which was compered by legendary DJ, "Whispering" Bob Harris, raised over £100,000 which paid for 40 new volunteer ChildLine counsellors.
The evening also featured a special VIP auction of rock memorabilia where lucky bidders could win tickets for a flight on the Iron Maiden 757, piloted by Bruce Dickinson for a trip to see Iron Maiden play live in Lisbon, a Led Zeppelin plaque signed by Robert Plant, a double-necked Gibson guitar from Jimmy Page, a Fender Telecaster guitar from Status Quo, a Gibson Epiphone Union Jack guitar from Noel Gallagher and a Gibson Les Paul guitar signed by all the acts and artists featured.

ChildLine came to life in October 1986. Starting out as
a single phone number young people could call if they were experiencing abuse, it's come a long way since then.
ChildLine has information and advice on a whole range of issues. As well as calling 0800 1111, young people can now email a counsellor, have a 1-2-1 chat online, use Ask Sam or get help and support from other young people on the message boards.
